Leryn Llorona is a 2022-introduced and all-around character. She is the daughter of La llorona and one of the many students at monster high. Leryn was born in Cempasuchil, Hexico before her family immigrated to the Boonited States of Scaremerica.

She is one of the more shy and soft-spoken students of Monster High, normally just following around with the main group and she is also very sensitive and easygoing.
Appearance
Leryn is a tan ghost with yellow-golden eyes and a red scar is under her left eye which is a gene carried down in her family. Her hair is curly & brownish-red with caramel colored streaks, giving her a more human appearance compared to some of her friends. Her outfit comprises of a white lace dress and matching open toe boots. Her hair is up in a ponytail by a matching white lace ponytail holder with a veil. She wears a red heart necklace and matching earrings. Her bag is white, with the same heart from her accessories as the clutch.

In Hispano-American folklore,"The Weeping Woman" or "The Wailer") is a vengeful ghost who roams waterfront areas mourning her children whom she drowned. The legend has a wide variety of details and versions. In a typical version of the legend, a beautiful woman named María marries a rich man to whom she bears two children. One day, María sees her husband with another woman and in a fit of blind rage, she drowns their children in a river, which she immediately regrets. Unable to save them and consumed by guilt she drowns herself as well but is unable to enter the afterlife, forced to be in purgatory and roam this earth until she finds her children. In another version of the story, her children are illegitimate, and she drowns them so that their father cannot take them away to be raised by his new wife. Recurring themes in variations on the myth include a white, wet dress, nocturnal wailing, and an association with water.
The mother archetype of has been tied to patriarchal expectations of women in Mexican culture by several authors, historians, and social critics. Social critics often consider Mexican (and Mexican-American) culture to force patriarchal standards onto women, such as being defined by their roles as mothers. 's falling into the trope of an "evil" or "failed" mother, having either committed infanticide or having failed to save them from drowning, can be considered a reflection of this.

Leryn is one of the children of the weeping woman also known as La Llorona. Who her father is just so happens to be unknown but he seems to also be a ghost. Since the legend states that La Llorona would be named Maria during her human days it is assumed that this true. Her diary states that she and her parents live in a spanish style mini-mansion. She has a two cousins named Lorenzo and Lenora as stated in her diary.
Friends
With information from her profile her best friends are stated to be Draclaura and Ghoulia. She has known Draclaura since when the both of them immigrated to Scaremerica. She looks to Cleo as a style inspiration and older sister figure in the earlier webisodes and movies but finds her own style in later movies and webisodes. Due to their similarities, she and Twyla are also close friends and also due to her affiliation with Cleo, she has found foes in Nefera and the werecat trio which is more one-sided.
Pet
She owns a cat named Carene who she describes as inquisitive and says she loves to meet new people, and will happily play with other animals.
Romance
She doesn’t have a boyfriend due to her shyness but she’s been rumored to crush on the Jaundice brothers since spectra saw her at a concert with a with a poster that had the words Joe marry me but she claims it was her cousins and she was just holding it for her.

ghouls rule: very similar to the outfit her mother wears in the legend of La Llrona but more modernized to match her aesthetic(instead of the long wedding dress skirt she wears a mermaid maxi skirt wedding dress). her shoes are a white that fades to gray strapped heel and the strap wraps around her leg and her purse matches this shoes. her mask is shaped like heart and matches her shoes along with her makeup. her hair is banged and cut into a bob hairstyle.
